Golf as a day job - on Full Swing, the upcoming Netflix Series

For most of us, golf is just a cool ball game, but for a select few, however, it’s a bloody serious day job. We’re talking Full Swing, the upcoming Netflix documentary series which lays bare the nitty-gritty reality of professional golf players. And yes, we mean the ones that play the planet’s most prestigious greens and aim for the big buck.

Created by Vox Media Studios from Los Angeles and Box to Box, the same London-based producers behind the hugely popular Formula 1: Drive to Survive documentary series, Full Swing has been made in partnership with the PGA Tour. If you ask us, the latter’s involvement might very well be a cheeky marketing jab at LIV Golf, the new controversial golf tour backed by Saudi Arabia. Aired across the planet from February 15, it promises an unprecedented immersive viewing experience of the life of some of today’s biggest stars in professional golf, including Collin Morikawa, Joel Dahmen, Scottie Scheffer, Ian Poulter, and even the world’s current number one, Rory McIlroy.

As said, the docuseries steers clear from the haloed idea of nicely pressed chinos, leisurely strolls on the greens, and civilised clubhouse banter. Instead, you’ll see the many highs and lows of these golfers, including their trials and tribulations during a full season of competitions. Mind you, this includes an actual PGA tour and, for the first time ever, all of the golf world’s major championships: the Masters / Augusta National, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and Open Championship. But what makes the docuseries so compelling, is the fact that you’ll get an in-depth look into what it takes to compete at the highest level of men’s professional golf, and more importantly, how to stay on top of the game.

The Full Swing docuseries consists of eight episodes, and all will be released at once, providing you a good ole binge-watch.

Cheers,

Ido, Cheng and Marc
